About the game
WW2 Battle Forces is a turn-based squad RPG. Build a roster from the soldiers, commanders, ships and aircraft of 1939 to 1945, train them up, and lead them through the campaigns of Europe, the Mediterranean and the Pacific.
Battles are five against five, wave after wave. Every unit has its own speed, so the turn order shifts as the fight goes on. Players choose targets, time special abilities and pick a leader whose bonus lifts the whole squad, or switch to auto.
The roster has 144 characters from 13 nations, including Montgomery, Eisenhower, Virginia Hall, Desmond Doss and "Mad Jack" Churchill. After 89 land battles, from the invasion of Poland in 1939 to Okinawa in 1945, the air and sea war opens: 49 more battles and 189 ships and aircraft, each crewed by characters from the player's roster.
Each battle is fought on its real ground, with a note on what happened there and a bonus drawn from the events themselves. The game is made with respect for the people who served, and told without propaganda.
